The JB Model kit has a different set of tricks up its sleeve. Two Single Coil Jazz pickups are controlled by a pair of volume knobs (one for each pickup) and a tone control.
The JB Model is a bit brighter, and offers more flexibility thanks to its dual pickups. Jazz players love it for its velvet-smooth tones, but cranking the pickups will bring growl that any rock bassist will find more than usable.
If you are a first time builder or an experienced professional you know the value of building your instrument on a solid foundation. The Custom Shop JB Model body is beautiful, high quality and made to spec. The Mighty Mite neck is manufactured under license by Fender. The materials and quality level meet the standards set by Fender.
The neck is made from Canadian rock hard Maple with the famous Walnut "skunk stripe" on the back. Your choice of a Rosewood or Maple fingerboard. The truss rod is adjustable at the headstock for easy setup. The neck is finished with an oil based poly.
